A City Without a Map, but With a Compass: The One We Build Through Conversation

By Nathalia Miranda
A City Without a Map, but With a Compass: The One We Build Through Conversation

The city you can't see, but that is waking up.

When we started Budas de Ciudad, we did it from a place with no map and no concrete shape, but with a very clear intention: to open spaces where people could speak — not from what is politically correct or from personal-brand strategy, but from what is human, from the story that hurts but also teaches. The format was born almost as an intimate experiment, a way to connect with people walking through real processes of transformation. We invited voices we admire not for their exposure or celebrity, but for their life experience: Tatiana Calderón, with her fame and her life story; Carolina Mandil, who turns marketing into an experience of consciousness; Pamela Richter, who challenges what it means to lead from the feminine with a mix of brutal clarity and unshakable conviction; Catalina Escobar Bravo, who lives coherence as an everyday act; Romina Biamino, who reminds us that creativity is a form of intelligent resistance; and José Manuel Restrepo, DBA, who shows that institutions, too, can speak with truth, vulnerability and long-term vision.

Along the way, the project mutated. What began as a conversational podcast gradually became something much bigger: an emotional network, a community scattered but alive, a collective of people who don't always have a name or a defined role, but who know they came for more than survival. Business leaders who lead with ethics. Young people who don't buy the idea of quick success. Women who are done staying quiet. Artists who create not to entertain, but to heal. Social entrepreneurs who choose to move forward in a complex environment. Budas de Ciudad became that invisible meeting point where all of them recognize each other without needing introductions.

Because this isn't a city made of concrete and traffic. It is an inner city, inhabited through questions, shared silences and conversations that transform without shouting. A city built with pauses, small decisions, everyday acts of coherence. Where purpose isn't a pretty phrase, but a daily practice that unsettles, that demands — and that gives meaning.

Here we don't follow algorithms. We follow intuition. We don't seek virality; we seek truth. We aren't interested in piling up followers, but in multiplying impact. And above all, we aren't afraid to say we're tired of the noise. That we want a more intentional life. That we need to surround ourselves with people willing to get uncomfortable in order to grow. People who lead with humanity, sell with ethics, create without disguise.

That is why we decided to go beyond the microphone. To create spaces for those who feel out of place in what's "normal." For those who no longer want to run, but to walk with meaning. For those who know that change doesn't come from outside, but from the courage to look at yourself without filters. And so we said it out loud: a City Buddha isn't someone who says it; it's someone who lives it.

And in this collective awakening, we paused to ask ourselves: what defines an inhabitant of this invisible city?

Are you a City Buddha?

Maybe you're not sure whether you belong. Try this exercise:

  • Have you felt that your story deserves to be told?
  • Do you lead from the invisible, the ethical, the uncomfortable?
  • Do you prefer an honest conversation to an empty meeting?
  • Do you care as much about the how as about the what?
  • Do you choose purpose, even when it slows you down?
  • Do you have a sensitivity the world told you to hide, but that you know is your greatest power?
  • Are you building something bigger than yourself, even if it doesn't have a name yet?

If you said yes to several of these questions, you don't need anyone to invite you. You're already in. You're already part of it. You're already a City Buddha, even if you hadn't called it that.

And now… what we're building day by day

At Transformente, every day we try to live with more intention. With more meaning. With more truth. It's not only about transforming companies or accompanying innovation processes. It's about helping people — and teams — reconnect with what truly moves them. Because we know corporate purpose starts with individual purpose.

That is the energy that also sustains this community. And today we're happy to share that more voices keep joining this invisible city. Mariana Amado is one of them: a woman who leads from purpose, who drives human connection in digital contexts, and who reminds us that you can build a business and stay fully human.

And she won't be the only one. In upcoming episodes, more Budas will arrive. People who not only have valuable stories, but are using their voice to move collectives, change conversations and regenerate what seemed lost.

Because in the end, that's what we want to do: create a space where purpose is heard, shared and spread. Where every word planted gives rise to a city that is more alive, more human, more conscious.

Thank you for being here. See you in the next episode — or in that pause when you remember that your story deserves to be told too.

If this message resonated with you, it's no coincidence. Budas de Ciudad is more than a podcast: it is a community growing with purpose, active listening and real work rooted in the human.

This isn't about formulas; it's about decisions. About leaders who don't just want to change the system, but to start by changing themselves. See you in the next episode… or in the next step you take with intention.
